There are many basics to the internet, and while many of us take them for granted, there are still those that need to learn what they are. Words like browser, netiquette, and avatar might sound like a science fiction story to many, and starting with the easy details is the best way to education new users.

URL’s and Why They Matter

A URL, or Uniform Resource Locator, is the information that you put in the search bar in order to locate a website. You will notice that many begin with HTTP:// and then the words that follow are the actual location of the website. This information is not vital to know for new users, it is just important to know how to input the information. For example, the URL will usually begin with www. then the site name, then .com. This is the most popular format.

When trying to find a site that you do not know the URL for, you can use a search engine like Google, Yahoo, AOL, or Bing. For instance, once on a search engine, type in UFX Markets Trading, and all the information pertaining to that topic will appear.

How to Search

Make sure that when you begin to search for information, that you very specific about the query. This is an important thing to remember, as you may be shocked by the results if you type in the wrong type of material. There are many things on the internet, including things that would be considered lude and shocking.

If there are specific things you’re looking to find out about PHP, simply search for it in search engines like Google and Yahoo. You’ll find plenty of detailed articles and possibly a few YouTube tutorials.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Getting all of the nuances of a programming language down is difficult, and the only way to do it is by constantly working at it. You won’t be changing the world on your first try, so don’t worry about the end result. Just concentrate on getting better with your control of PHP. Eventually, you’ll really be building something.
